Francisco Javier González, Freepik Company’s new COO
Freepik Company, a technology company specialized in the production and distribution of graphic resources, has appointed Francisco Javier González Bernal as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), after more than a year working for the Malaga-based company. González Bernal will report directly to the CEOs and founders of the startup: Pablo Blanes, Alejandro Sánchez and Joaquín Cuenca.
In this new position, Gonzalez Bernal will focus on coordinating and optimizing the activities of Freepik Company, executing and synchronizing operations, liaising between the different departments and being responsible for the connections between them.
Before joining Freepik Company, where he started working just over a year ago as Tech Lead and then as Head of Product, Gonzalez Bernal worked for 7 years as Product Manager and Chief Operating Officer at Resultados de Fútbol – BeSoccer, a successful startup in Malaga, which has more than 100 employees.
Francisco Javier affirms that “this new responsibility at Freepik Company is an interesting challenge in my career, which will allow me to coordinate the operations of an important startup in Malaga’s business fabric, and one which provides services to the whole world, with international, multicultural and global dimensions”.
For his part, Alejandro Sánchez, co-founder of Freepik Company and current CEO, adds that “Francisco Javier is taking on a key position in Freepik Company, since one of our pillars is to offer top quality, solid services to our users and this position is vital to this. We especially like to invest in local talent with people who have experience in the tech fabric that has been built in Malaga over the years”.
This appointment is in line with the company’s strategy for the last year, aimed at strengthening its management team, which in recent months has led to the incorporation of several senior professionals at the management level. Last September, Carmen Guerrero joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), in October Amine Saoudi-Hassani joined as Chief Financial Officer of the Malaga-based company and more recently, in April of this year, Carlos Marín joined as Project Strategy Officer.
